The
Health Trust is one
of the few providers
of health insurance
benefits in the state
of Maine that will continue
to cover employees as
part of the group, even
after they have retired.
Employees
who are participating
in a Health Trust health
insurance plan at the
time of retirement will
be eligible to continue
coverage for as long
as their former employer
is a member of the Health
Trust, and as long as
premiums are paid.
Retirees
who are under the age
of 65, and who are not
eligible for Medicare,
will be provided with
the same benefits as
active employees of
the employer. Retirees
who are age 65 and over,
and who are on Medicare,
will have Medicare as
their primary coverage.
The Health Trust will
then provide these Medicare
retirees with supplemental
coverage from Anthem
Companion Plan B, along
with Health Trust Major
Medical coverage (including
a prescription drug
card).
