Insurance Benefits - Active Employees

The Maine Municipal Employees Health Trust is committed to containing costs while maintaining quality benefit programs. We are a fully funded, self-insured trust offering a variety of benefit plans to participating employers and their employees.

MEDICAL:    The MMEHT offers participating employers a choice of eight plans to meet the needs of their active employees.   Participating employers may offer more than one plan to their employees in accordance with plan guidelines.    Active medical plans include basic life insurance equal one times basic annual salary.

- One Indemnity plan: (Indemnity Choice);

- Three Point of Service plans: (Traditional POS, Comprehensive POS, and POS-200; and

- Four Preferred Provider Organization Plans: (PPO-500 (new) and PPO-1000 (new) and PPO-1500 and PPO-2500).
